Communities that offer care for residents with many forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's Syndrome,
are unique in their function and design. Special Needs communities provide a high level of personal
care and supervision, with resident safety and comfort as primary objectives. These services are often
provided in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) campus, as a stand-alone facility, or integrated
into an Assisted Living community.
Residential character is an important component in the design of Special Needs communities and our design solutions include home-like surroundings with abundant light and space. Outdoor living areas, which residents may safely visit by themselves, are important elements of the community.
