| All Saints - Sioux Falls, SD Waterford at All Saints is an Independent and Assisted Living community, with dementia care, located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The community is developed on the 5 acre campus of a boarding school established in 1884, for the daughters of Episcopal missionaries. The exterior of the existing 1884 structure was completely restored and the interior renovated to provide 10 apartments for independent residents. The original structure also contained a beautiful chapel, which was completely restored, including its Tiffany stained-glass windows and original pipe organ. Both the City and the National Park Service closely monitored the site design and building massing of new elements on the campus, since the entire campus is on the National Historic Register. New independent and assisted living apartments in a new four-story structure over two levels of underground parking are connected to the historic building by a one-story commons area, containing dining rooms, activity spaces, salon and administrative area. Resident apartments sizes include studio and one-bedroom units, as well as large two bedroom units with full kitchens. Dementia care and high-acuity assisted living services are provided in a wing attached to the main residential structure. Waterford at All Saints received the 2001 Gold Award in the Best of Seniors Housing Design Awards competition, sponsored by the National Association of Homebuilders Seniors Housing Council. |
