Our senior leadership team has been working together for over 20 years. We pride ourselves in innovative design, creative problem solving, and attention to meeting the individual needs of all of our clients. We believe that it is our job is to help deliver a successful project, not simply a set of design documents.

We are focused on doing what we love and what we do best, while building relationships, creating community and enriching lives.
James Brown, AIA
PRESIDENT 
James graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1996 before moving back to the Seattle area.  He joined Wattenbarger in 1998 and became a principal in 2008 and president in 2016. James is also an artist and exhibits periodically in the Pacific NW. 
Travis McDanold, AIA
PRINCIPAL 
 Travis joined Wattenbarger in 1999 as an intern after graduating from the University of Washington.  He currently designs and manages the bulk of the multifamily and townhouse projects designed by our office.  
Todd Sargeant
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Todd joined Wattenbarger in 1995. He served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Issaquah for 7 years and was the City's Special Landmarks Commissioner for 20.  He has played a lead role as project manager on several large projects and project rescues.  
Steve Wattenbarger
EMERITUS
Founder of Wattenbarger Architects in 1987.  Steve was one of the pioneers of assisted living design and helped shape the industry as we know it today.  Steve has recently retired but stops by the office regularly.
Carol Baldwin
 Carol graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Math, followed by accounting coursework at Cal State Long Beach to become a CPA.  She was an audit manager at Arthur Young and joined Wattenbarger in 2008 as our controller.
Ben Blakeman
 Ben has a long family history in construction and engineering leading him to pursue his own engineering and business degrees.  He eventually found Architecture and a professional degree from Oklahoma University.  Has practiced architecture in FL, TX, UT and WA in a variety of building types and scales.
Mikayla Bryant
 Mikayla graduated from Lake Washington Institute of Technology with a degree in Architectural Technology and Design.  She joined Wattenbarger Architects in 2021 and currently oversees our townhomes studio.
Steven Clendaniel
Steven graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2009 and joined Wattenbarger in 2016. He was promoted to project architect in 2021.
Vess Dimitrov
 Vess graduated from Kent State University with a degree of Master of Architecture in 2004. He joined Wattenbarger in 2016 as a job captain and rejoined the firm back in 2022 as a project architect/manager.
Dianna Hall
 Dianna started at Wattenbarger in 2015 when her family was stationed in Washington for the military. Since then she has continued to grow with the firm as our remote employee. Currently she is designing from sunny Florida.
Jeffrey Hughes
Jeffrey Jointed Wattenbarger Architects as a project manager in 2020 after extensive experience in commercial and residential design with other firms.
Julianne Minnick
 Julianne graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor in Architectural Design in 2019. She worked in single family custom homes before joining Wattenbarger Architects in 2022.
David Read
 David graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1995, Master of Science in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001, and attended Princeton University to study urban and suburban design theory. He joined Wattenbarger Architects in 2016 as a Project Manager overseeing remodel projects.
Lisa Richards
 Lisa has degrees in both Interior Design (WSU) and Architecture (SUNY Buffalo) and originally joined Wattenbarger in 2012. Her design interests center on creating functional and meaningful spaces with an emphasis on universal design and accessibility.
Ghazala Yasmin
Ghazala graduated from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), India with Bachelor of Architecture in 2010.  she joined  Wattenbarger Architect in 2021 as a Job Captain, her first full time work place in USA.
Ramiro Zamarripa
 Ramiro Zamarripa graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction. Growing up in a military family, the constant moving around strengthened his adaptability and piqued his interest in architecture and urban design.
